Dryland and Off-Ice Training

Dryland Training Programs (2023 Summer Sessions)

Upper Echelon Goaltending is happy to announce the start of our dryland and off-ice training program to help younger goaltenders start to develop better work and physical fitness habits required to play the game effectively.

The programs are run by myself (Todd Bengert) and are to be a bi-weekly, multi-discipline system to improve overall fitness and coordination as it relates to goaltending.

The program will be introductory in nature and will be a blend of speed, power, agility, and hand-eye training.  In addition, yoga and stretching elements will also be included.  All training will be body-weight and band orientated with no heavy weights or bars.

Sessions will be held Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings for 1 hour with the following schedule:

(1) Wednesday Session : 600pm to 700pm for all ages (Thursday being a rain-day)

(2) Sunday Session: 700am to 800am for all ages

NOTE: if enrollment increases, two blocks will be created roughly based on age and the start times staggered

Starts June 21st (Wednesday) and runs until August 28th (Sunday)

LOCATION:  Astral Drive Junior High School soccer field

All sessions are weather dependent and may be moved to Sunday if weather is inclement.

Cost will be $300 for the complete block of 20 sessions.  All equipment will be provided, but a checklist for special or required items will be sent out to parents prior to the session (i.e. water bottle, yoga mat, goalie gloves).
